A consumer can purchase multiple items and keep them securely in a virtual holding bin. Usually depicted as an icon of a typical supermarket basket. Of course online shopping carts vary from price, features, and 'tier' size. Some may only support credit card processing only, while others process both credit cards and online checks. ACH or online checks are commonly known as Automated Clearing House.

-NOTE Tier size of a business would be determined by several factors such as physical size of the company i.e., number of employees, annual revenue, range and quantity of products to be sold and most importantly, a near accurate estimate of daily or monthly transactions to be processed online. Software vendors of shopping carts or e-commerce packages will use this information to determine the appropriate solution for your website.

The Technical Support Division has designed a demo shopping cart. If integrated correctly on a web server, the merchant's website would be able to take orders and charge credit cards or accept checks through the cart's interface by posting the product information to our transaction servers via a .cgi (Common Gateway Interface) script.  The demo cart is a complete functional JavaScript shopping cart containing some HTML code that interfaces with the 'back-end' transaction server within Hughes Billing Services eCommerce transaction gateway.
